Congratulations to the Men's USA Volleyball Oympic team for winning the Gold medal in Beijing.  The team included Missouri Thunder alum Scott Touzinsky.  Scott played for Missouri Thunder from 14's through 18's.  He was a key member of the 1998 Missouri Thunder 161 team which won the Open National Championship and the 1999 171 team which finished 2nd.  He then attended Long Beach State where he earned several honors, including being the Career and Single Season Ace Leader.

Congratulations to the Missouri Thunder 171 and 161 teams for their finishes at the Gateway Boy's Festival.  The 171 team went 8-1 in matches and finished 2nd in Gold and earned a bid in the Open division at the 2009 JOVC Nationals in Atlanta.   The 161 boys finished a strong 5th in the 16 Gold division.
Congratulations to the Missouri Thunder 181 team for finishing first at the Southeast BBQ qualifier in Orlando and earning a bid in the Open division at the 2009 JOVC Nationals in Atlanta.

Congratulations to the Lindenwood University Men's Volleyball Team for winning the NAIA National Volleyball Championship.  The Lindenwood Lions finished with a record of 38-3 and swept California Baptist in the finals by a 30-20, 30-28, 20-27 score.    Lindenwood is coached by Missouri Thunder Club Directors Ron Young and Cary Cusumano.   Lindenwood was led by Missouri Thunder 162 coach Jared Kreienkamp who was voted the tournament MVP.   Other key players included Thunder alum Andrew Hock.
Several Missouri Thunder teams are participating in the 2009 Junior Olympics Volleyball Championships (Nationals) in Atlanta, GA held on July 1-8.   Teams attending include:  181 (18 Open), 182 (18 Club), 171 (17 Open), 172 (17 Club), 161 (16 Open), and 162 (16 Club).   Good luck to everyone.
